Expanding the Boundaries of Horror
The 2007 Puerto Rico Horror Film Fest (PRHFF) solidified its position as a pioneering event in the Caribbean, showcasing a diverse lineup of horror, macabre, and bizarre films from around the world. Highlights included the first modern horror film from Pakistan, Hell’s Ground, and the grotesque Hungarian film Taxidermia. The festival also featured a significant international presence, with films from countries like Japan, Argentina, and Mexico, alongside special events like a conference on horror film production and over 50 international short films. PRHFF 2007 expanded the horizons of genre cinema in Puerto Rico, setting the stage for future editions that would continue to push the boundaries of horror.
