A Magical Anniversary Celebration

The 14th edition of the LUSCA Film Fest marked its "Magic Anniversary," offering a week-long celebration of cinema devoted to themes of magic and fantasy. This year's festival featured a rich lineup of sci-fi, fantasy, horror, and cult films from around the globe, complemented by industry workshops, special screenings, and interactive events. Highlights included the 40th anniversary screening of Flash Gordon in stunning 4K, a tribute to the beloved Rafael Mediavilla, and the pioneering Cinema Arcade, the first of its kind in Puerto Rico, where attendees played video games on the big screen. The festival also hosted a vibrant Día de los Muertos celebration in Mayagüez, making it an unforgettable year for attendees and genre enthusiasts alike.
